Young consumers see glass as the premium choice for beauty, fragrance and pharmaceutical packaging
Used as a 2020 consumer-insight reference, this FEVE / InSites Consulting study highlights the strong role of glass in beauty, fragrance and pharmaceutical packaging.
Based on an online survey of 2,030 consumers aged 18–34 across France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, the research shows that glass is clearly perceived as the best packaging material in these categories.
According to the study, 77% of respondents selected glass as the best option for beauty, fragrance and medical products, 83% said it best preserves the quality and scent of perfumes or fragrances, and 86% associated glass with the most premium feel.
For beauty, fragrance and pharmaceutical brands, the study supports the role of glass in premiumisation, product protection, recyclability and consumer trust, while also showing the need for clearer disposal guidance.
